Abdullahi Sarki Mohammed (Sarkin Yamman, Kano)

Abdullahi Mohammed is a seasoned banking and finance professional with over 36 years of experience spanning Retail, Corporate, Consumer, and Commercial Banking; Treasury; Pension Fund Administration; and Financial Advisory. He has held key leadership roles in major financial institutions, including Polaris Bank Limited, where he served as Executive Director, Abuja and Northern Directorate (2018–2023), overseeing operations across the Federal Capital Territory and 18 states. Before that, he held the same role at Skye Bank Plc (2016–2018) and was a Non-Executive Director at Trustfund Pensions Limited and Skye Bank Limited, Guinea, where he chaired the Board Credit Committee and the Board Audit & Risk Management Committee.

Prior to his tenure at Polaris and Skye Bank, Abdullahi Mohammed spent 13 years at First Bank of Nigeria Plc (2003–2016), leading business development across Corporate, Commercial, and Retail Banking. He also played a strategic role at Kakawa Discount House Limited (1995–2003) as Abuja Area Office Manager, overseeing financial operations across 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory. Earlier in his career, he worked at Century Merchant Bank Limited, where he rose to Head of Treasury for the Kano Area Office.

Abdullahi Mohammed holds Ordinary and Higher National Diplomas in Electrical Engineering from Kaduna Polytechnic and advanced degrees in Industrial Education and Technology from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, USA. He has attended executive leadership programs at INSEAD, London Business School, Cornell University, and Strathmore Business School. A distinguished member of the 37th Senior Management Programme (SMP) at Lagos Business School, he is also an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Nigeria.
